Bourgeois Slope D Standard Aged Tone Adirondack and Mahogany Short Scale

Dana Bourgeois always revered the guitars of the 1930’s, considered the ‘Golden Era’ of guitar building. One of his favorites was the slope dreadnoughts that were being made by Gibson and others in Kalamazoo, MI at that time. The new Slope D Standard is Dana’s nod to the past but looking ahead to the future as well.  Built of Adirondack and Mahogany with a Guatemalan Rosewood fretboard and bridge, the Standard features Dana Bourgeois’ Aged Tone package- torrefied Adirondack top, Hide Glue construction and thin full gloss Aged Tone finish, with a comfortable 25″ short scale and vintage inspired sunburst.

This is one of the first Slope D Standard guitars built, and this will soon become a popular model. Big, broken in tone, clear balance with great not separation. Feels like a vintage slope shoulder model in a new build. You can strum cowboy chords till the cows come home, flatpick your heart away or fingerpick the sweetest melody, all on this super versatile tone machine.

Includes deluxe hardshell case and lifetime warranty.

Slope D Standard

Dana’s passion for acoustic guitars was fostered by those coveted instruments built in the pre-war era. The Slope D Standard model was inspired by those classic designs. Emerging from the midwestern United States at that time, those builds have set the platform for guitar building since. Dana built on those premise of design but incorporates many elements of his own design. This Slope D utilizes Guatemalan Rosewood parts, and the headstock and pickguard design developed for the L-DBO model.
