Dana Bourgeois is known around the world for his superb craftsmanship and also as one of the foremost authorities on the voicing, selection and utilization of fine acoustic tonewoods.
He selects and matches the woods for each guitar at the beginning of the production process and, once each guitar is complete, checks it from top to bottom insuring it is aesthetically perfect and sounds and plays up to the demanding Bourgeois standard. Throughout the production process you can find Dana applying bridges, spraying a sunburst top, buffing the final finish coat, selecting and applying pick guards as well as overseeing the eight other individuals working on the various facets of the guitars being built.

Bourgeois D-150 Brazilian/ Hide Glue- If you’re looking for an exquisite piece of musical weaponry, this is it. Featuring Dana Bourgeois’ unique, single-scalloped X brace system, Premium Brazilian Rosewood quarter sawn back and sides and premium Adirondack spruce top, the D-150 delivers a blend of balance and clarity absolutely required for bluegrass (and highly desirable for most other styles of playing!) --but rarely found in a contemporary dreadnought. Made with hot hide glue (of coarse), this guitar is elegantly appointed with an abalone rosette, triple layer ivoroid body/ fretboard and headstock binding, side purfling, Fossilized Ivory slotted squares and diamonds inlay, Gold Waverly tuners, Ebony fretboard and bridge, Fossilized Ivory pins, bone nut and saddle, 1 23/32” nut.
