Down Home Guitars was established to provide an atmosphere for those who appreciate fine acoustic instruments. We specialize in high-end handmade acoustic guitars, banjos and mandolins by Bourgeois, Collings, Deering, Gallagher, Huss & Dalton, Lowden, Martin, McPherson, Santa Cruz, Stelling,Weber, Blueridge and more. We also have a fine selection of instructional books, DVD’s, CD’s and accessories, as well as acoustic pickups by Fishman and L.R. Baggs. While most music stores sell everything from drum sets to electric pianos, our customers will find our product selection and knowledge truly exceptional by keeping our focus narrow. We offer group guitar classes for kids and adults as well as private lessons on various instruments, and host world class musicians for concerts and workshops in our intimate concert hall as well as free weekly bluegrass jams. The store is set in historic downtown Frankfort, Illinois, minutes from I 80 and Rt.45(Lagrange Rd) as well as I 57 and Rt.30(Lincoln Hwy.) and is open 7 days a week. Centered in the Trolley barn, the building is over 100 years old with hardwood floors and numerous specialty shops.
